Cable management experts D-Line, based on North Tyneside‘s Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate, have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of six consecutive years of exceptional sales growth in export markets.

Since launch in 2006, D-Line’s innovative cable organisers have doubled sales over the last three years to £10million annually thanks to its devices used to sort cables.

Founder Paul Ruddick is hoping the business can double again by 2023, with 44 per cent of turnover earned from overseas, 50 staff employed locally and a recruitment drive set for the company’s USA subsidiary in Kentucky.

Having developed a global reputation in its’ niche, the company enjoys strong relationships with leading retailers and distributors across Europe, Australasia, and North America.

Paul said: “We are delighted to win this Queens Award, being testament to all D-Line stakeholders – including a UK supply chain, long-term investors, brilliant staff that make a great team, and our customers at home and abroad.

“In most export markets, in our category D-Line is usually the only UK brand on offer.

“We are proud that the product loads leaving our HQ in North Shields are being used in territories stretching from USA across to Japan, Australia up to Scandinavia, and many exciting markets in between.”

He added that D-Line sees a world of opportunity as more customers are seeking smarter ways to sort cables in their homes and workplaces.
