An engineering consultancy is creating new jobs after a number of project wins with national house builders, contractors and developers.
RWO Associates – which has moved to new offices in Seaton Burn, North Tyneside, to accommodate expansion – has secured more than £400,000 of new orders to supply pre-planning work, ground works, flood risk assessment and civil contracting services to the likes of Bellway, Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson Homes and Galliford Try.
Large-scale commercial work in the region’s leisure sector is also in the pipeline and will further add to growth as the firm heads into 2020.
The company has turnover of around £1m, but is targeting revenues of £1.5m this year.
It has also seen demand beyond its traditional North East heartland, expanding with the opening of a new Leeds office to support customers in Yorkshire and the North West.
RWO’s managing director Ross Oakley, who established the company in 2010, said: “We are now busier than ever, and we’re involved in developing new projects right across the region and beyond, which is extremely encouraging and contributing to growth. As our customers’ own investment and growth plans come to fruition, we are seeing strong demand for both structural and civil engineering experience and supporting technical skills.
“Regardless of all the uncertainty around Brexit, we are confident about the future and expect the sectors we support to remain busy. We very much look forward to meeting and exceeding customer needs from both the new offices.

RWO Associates specialises in a range of work including flood risk assessments, residential, commercial, industrial and leisure structural engineering. Civil engineering services cover road design, drainage, external works and Sustainable Urban Drainage.
